Gemma Hollingworth - Little Gems Daycare
I am 38 years old and live with my husband, my two sons ( 13 and 3) and our dog Lola, who is a Beagle and is very friendly. She is three years old and we have had her since she was 8 weeks old so she is used to being around children. We have lived in our family home since February 2016, where we have created a loving, fun environment for our children. Becoming a Childminder is the next logical step for me. It combines my love of working with children and the challenge of running my own business.
Our home is a semi detached house with a large, secure back garden, which provides many wonderful and exciting activities. WE have a summer house at the bottom of the garden so children can free-flow in and out, with a range of toys to explore, a cosy corner with books and messy play activities. Children also have access to our lounge for quieter activities, kitchen to help prepare delicious meals and baking and a downstairs toilet.
I aim to provide a safe, enjoyable and educational home care setting for all the children I work with. Working with parents is essential to reach your child's full potential. Nobody knows your child better than you do. You are their most enduring educator. As their parent you are the key to providing me with as much information as possible about your child’s needs, stage of development, eating and sleeping habits, daily routine, culture, religion and beliefs and personality.
I am open to new ideas and welcome ways to improve my setting. I will talk to and listen to the children in my care and act on their wishes where possible. In addition to this I am able to aid parents should they need to access support and any relevant childcare services. I will send home learning journeys or photo books so you know what we are doing and what your child’s next steps are.

- Daily rate (from 7.30am-5:30pm) is £48 this includes all snacks, meals, toddler groups. Before school care from 7.30am – school £7.50. Includes breakfast of cereal and toast After school- school pick up-5:30pm £15. includes a cooked meal Early drop off or late collection fee- £4.00 per 15 minutes. Late payment fee of £10.00 per day. Your regular payment is due on the 28th of every month .

Settling In
- How will you help children to settle into your setting?
- As I am a parent myself, I completely understand how difficult it is to leave your precious children. I will do my upmost to help settle your child into my home and hope they will come to see it as their home too. A settling in session is 1-2 hours long and I would suggest that for pre-school children you will likely need 2 sessions. One with parents/careers and one without. We will work together to get these arranged and by working in partnership we will ensure that both you and your child are comfortable.

- How will you communicate with parents/carers about their child's progress?
- Working with parents is essential to reach your child's full potential. Nobody knows your child better than you do. You are their most enduring educator. As their parent you are the key to providing me with as much information as possible about your child’s needs, stage of development, eating and sleeping habits, daily routine, culture, religion and beliefs and personality. I will provide a communication book about your child's day to share information about their day and how they are doing. I will also be doing learning journeys, which parents/careers will be able to access when they like but will be shared with twice a year. I think it is important to celebrate your child's success to build on their confidence and self esteem. I will do this by encouraging parents/careers to fill in magic moments,which will be stored in their learning journeys to look back on.

Dietary requirements
- How do you meet different dietary requirements?
- During settling sessions dietary requirements will be discussed. I have a healthy balanced menu with a vegetarian option. I will cater for food intolerance providing your child with an alternative but similar to the other children.

Fantastic with my boys

Simply the best
Rated 5 out of 5My daughter has been going to little gems for the past few months she enjoys it so much she doesn't want to come home. Gemma's passion for children's development shines through when you talk to her she is fantastic. If you are looking for somone you can trust and have absolutely faith ithat your child will thrive and grow then Gemma is the childminder for you. My daughter has grown in confidence, Gemma always has amazing activities ready for her.
My daughter is a fussy eater but the menu Gemma provides is Brilliant healthy and varried Ava is starting to eat and try new things which is brilliant.
I would absolutely recommend little gems.
