Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T) Society
Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T) is a progressive genetic condition which causes severe disability and shortens lives.
A-T, is a rare and complex genetic disorder. It is often referred to as a ‘multi-system’ disorder because it affects a number of different systems within the body.
The A-T Society works to improve quality of life and care for people living with A-T while promoting research to lengthen lives and find a cure.
Clinics
There are two A-T specialist clinical centres in the UK, one for children at Nottingham City Hospital (16 and under) and one for adults at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge (Over 16). These centres are now fully funded by the NHS and have built up considerable experience and expertise in A-T together with developing better management of the condition. Both centres offer multidisciplinary medical assessments over two days.
