Dear Providers, the information below contains current and up to date information from our strategic partners for you and your staff:

New and updated guidance and support, including information on funding:

Reminder - Care Home Vaccination Programme updates to the Capacity Tracker

This is a polite reminder that it is essential you update the Capacity Tracker in relation to the vaccinations received at your care home, as soon as they are completed .

Invitation to Homecare Providers - Double Handed Homecare Project

Please find attached an invitation to participate in a study; Researchers at Northumbria University are exploring care at home where two workers are required to be present (double handed homecare), as opposed to a single worker (single handed homecare). They would like to talk to homecare workers who have experience of both single handed and double handed homecare.

The purpose of this research is to use the experiences of those involved in reviews, alongside other information, to provide recommendations on how these reviews should be performed in the future.

Skills for Care Strategy Review

Skills for Care, over the last few months, have been refreshing and developing our strategy. Given the amount of change in adult social care and the scale of the challenges we know that we need to take the opportunity to reset, to revisit what we think are the biggest issues for adult social care, so we can best we can respond and support the sector. Developing a longer-term strategy for Skills for Care is really about making sure that we can get the most impact and benefit for social care, using all our resources to meet changing and increasing workforce needs. With this in mind we are approaching individuals/organisations that we have with worked with and who access our resources and support to ask for feedback.

Attached is a short presentation to give you some detail of our strategy. I know how busy you are at this time and understand if you are not able to find the time to view the presentation and offer any feedback. However if possible it would be useful to hear whether you feel we are moving in the right direction and if there are any areas we are missing or any things that come as a surprise?   Also if there are any key areas you are interested in and/or would like to work with us on.

Thank you very much and happy to have a conversation with you if you wish to discuss further.

How our £2.3million Covid-19 winter fund is supporting children, families and vulnerable people

Nottinghamshire County Council has approved details of a £2.3 million fund, to help people struggling with the financial impact of Covid-19 this winter.  The fund is to help people meet the costs of food, energy and water bills. The details were agreed at the Children and Young People's Committee on Monday 18 January.

At least 80% of the fund will be spent on families with children, with the remainder supporting vulnerable adults. It has quickly proved successful, helping 80 different families with utility payments in the first ten days since it was launched.  If you need help, or you know someone that does, please visit
