Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Council UPDATE BULLETIN – For all health and social care providers – Thursday 12th May 2022
Dear Providers, the information below contains current and up to date information from our strategic partners for you and your staff:
New and updated guidance and support, including information on funding:
Updated local PPE guidance
Local guidance about PPE use during the COVID pandemic has been prepared by the County Council to support colleagues. This identifies when and what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be worn by staff working in care settings in Nottinghamshire, based on the national guidance published on the GOV.UK website. It also clarifies the process for requesting PPE, including how to store and distribute PPE for all teams.
The local PPE guidance has just been updated for recent changes to national adult social care guidance and for changes to PPE supply arrangements.
You can download the updated local PPE guidance from Personal Protective Equipment Guidance (PPE) | Notts Help Yourself. This webpage also includes the latest information about ordering PPE.
Care home outbreak testing flowchart
Please note that the adult social care testing guidance has been updated as of 9 May 2022 to include a flowchart outlining care home outbreak testing. There have been no other changes.
Opportunity - Young People's design competition - closing date extended until May 31
A shout out to all young people across Nottinghamshire. Channel your creativity to make a poster, video, cartoon… to explain why vaccination is so important in helping us all to live safely with COVID.
There is a range of fantastic prizes including shopping vouchers and leisure passes and winners will also have their work featured in council communication campaigns.
The deadline for Design competition has been extended until May 31st. Information available at: Our Design Competition | Nottinghamshire County Council

Falls & Physical Activity Community of Practice
Join us, at the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Falls Prevention and Physical Activity Community Practice Event at 10am on 25th May 2022.
We held an online event in November for those across the Nottinghamshire ICS and beyond, to help hear more about how we can support those most adversely affected by lockdowns and the importance of moving more to prevent falls.
We're holding another event in May, and would love to have larger representation of those that work across all sectors. If this is something you'd be interested in, please sign up with the link below. Please feel free to circulate this to colleagues of yours that you feel would be interested.
If you have any further questions, please contact Bethany.Carey@nhs.net, Alice.Kilby@nottshc.nhs.uk, fran.platts@nhs.net or rachael.dyer@Activepartnerstrust.org.uk for more information.
How to improve the delivery of the Care Certificate - make sure your voice is heard
We are carrying out work for DHSC, in partnership with PA Consulting and SCIE, to understand how to improve the delivery of the Care Certificate ensuring it better meets the needs of the sector. Alongside this, Skills for Care is working hard to understand wider learning and development priorities and challenges so we can shape our offer to best support you.
We’d like to invite you to complete this short survey to influence both DHSC’s approach to Care Certificate delivery, and how Skills for Care supports wider workforce development. https://online1.snapsurveys.com/interview/c8509e3f-77ef-4f1a-af7f-8bd580e54167
