An effective vaccine is the best way to protect people from coronavirus and will save thousands of lives. Vaccinations are being delivered at three hospital hubs at Queen's Medical Centre, City Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital. Four local vaccination sites are now live at Ashfield Health Village, Richard Herrod Leisure Centre, Gamston Community Centre and Cripps Medical Centre (University Park). Two further sites in Lenton and Newark are due to go live in the next week.
All letters to people aged 80 and over should be out within the next week. Care home residents and staff should be vaccinated by the end of January and the first four priority groups should be vaccinated by mid-February.
We all have an important part to play to help the NHS:
- Please do not contact the NHS to seek a vaccine, the NHS will contact you
- When you are contacted, please attend your appointments
With the vaccination programme underway, we must continue to follow lockdown measures and stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives.
