Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Council UPDATE BULLETIN – For all health and social care providers – Wednesday 7th April 2021

Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Council UPDATE BULLETIN – For all health and social care providers – Wednesday 7th April 2021

We are currently reviewing the format and frequency of these bulletins as we move from a COVID focus to a wider recovery phase of operation.  This bulletin has been well received throughout the pandemic by care providers and health and social care partners.  We are now interested to know your thoughts on how it could continue to be a useful method of joined up communication going forward.  Please email us at istraining@nottscc.gov.uk with your thoughts on what you would like to keep and the changes you would like to see made.

Dear Providers, the information below contains current and up to date information from our strategic partners for you and your staff:

New and updated guidance and support, including information on funding:

Please find attached the template to complete and return to financeaccountancy.ss@nottscc.gov.uk to confirm spend and outcomes on the Workforce Capacity Fund up to the end of March 2021.  Please can this be returned by the 19th April, at the latest.  Thank you.

Access to FREE PPE is going to be available for the whole of this new financial year

In the adult social care winter plan, published 18 September 2020, the government committed to providing the adult social care sector with free PPE for COVID-19 needs until June 2021. This has now been extended until the end of March 2022.

Adult social care providers are able to access their free PPE provision through the PPE portal if CQC-registered, or via their local authority (LA) or local resilience forum (LRF) if not CQC-registered.

Where there is an emergency need, all adult social care providers can access the emergency PPE stockpile held by LRFs. Where this need is urgent and PPE is required within 72 hours, providers can access PPE through the National Supply Disruption Response (NSDR).

Adult social care providers should continue to order their business-as-usual PPE requirements through their usual channels.  Call the customer service team on 0800 876 6802 if you have any questions about using the PPE portal.

Reminder to update the Capacity Tracker with vaccination data

Please can you all continue to ensure that your vaccination data for staff and residents is up to date including second doses.  Thank you for your continued support on completing this.

New Guidance on visiting for Supported Living Settings

New guidance has just gone live on visiting in supported living settings. As part of this we have provided additional rapid lateral flow tests to support visiting in extra care and supported living settings. These tests will be available for all the settings which are currently eligible for staff testing. This guidance states that testing is not a requirement for visiting in extra care and supported living settings but is encouraged to support safer visits.

Full guidance is available here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/supported-living-services-during-coronavirus-covid-19/covid-19-guidance-for-supported-living
